Architectural Lighting / Outside Sales Representative

The Role

Moxie Lighting is growing rapidly and is looking for the right person to spearhead our sales and growth in Western New York. This is a great opportunity to be the capstone person in that market and establish yourself as a leader at Moxie. If you have a background in any facet of lighting or electrical design, quotations or sales and are looking for your next large opportunity, than this may be the right opportunity for you.

What We Need From You

  • A passion for technical sales and a strong desire to be successful by centering yourself in the entire lighting process

  • Identify leads and new projects, manage prospects and acquire new business

  • Service existing clients through technical expertise

  • Project manage large lighting jobs, including design, quotations, purchasing, delivery and onsite commissioning

  • Learn and effectively demonstrate multiple manufacturers products

  • Educate specifiers, lighting designers, architects, and engineers about the product lines we represent

  • Meet established goals for territory development and sales quotas

  • Develop new customer relationships and business opportunities

  • Deliver a high level of customer service.

Who you are

Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field preferred, but not necessary

Qualifications Required and Working Conditions

  • Prior experience in electrical contracting, electrical distribution, lighting design, or lighting sales strongly preferred

  • Experience in the lighting or architectural industry an asset

  • Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies

  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals

  • Possess effective oral and written communication skills, and have excellent interpersonal skills

  • Good time management skills

  • A hunger to build business and be successful through a "do whatever the customer needs" mentality.

  • Strong computer skills, and a thirst to leverage technology to be more efficient/effective with your work.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate an extensive variety of technical instructions related to installation of lighting projects.

  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a high-growth sales organization with a rapidly expanding line card and customer base.

  • Experience at working both independently and in team-oriented environments.

  • Customer service excellence is part of your priorities and values.
